Mountain Lodge

A 3.5 hour drive from Oslo airport will bring you to our welcoming mountain lodge.

«Bjørkåsen» was built in 1905 at the same time that Norway gained her independence, which is known as the Romantic Period, and the hearts carved into the cabin walls are testaments to this. Our double-story cabin has been lovingly restored over the past few years. The original charm has been kept intact while providing all comfort and every amenity to be expected in a modern residence.

On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads to the fully-equipped kitchen and dining room that welcome you into the relaxing lounge, with large fireplace. Another corridor leads to the five bedrooms downstairs, and upstairs there are two bedrooms with an activity room for reading, watching tv, playing games, and there is also a desk to work at if necessary.

A heated pathway leads you from the main house to the «Bathhouse», which was built in 2016. There are ladies and gents changing rooms, 2 toilets, 4 showers and a large sauna. On the west side of the «Bathhouse», there is a large patio with a fireplace, cookfire and Weber gas grill, where you can enjoy the sun late into the evening. The property has a fully equipped «Caretaker Cottage» that is ideal for couples seeking peace and quiet when the main house is busy. The barn has space for 2 cars and a large laundry room, as well as a spacious ski-wax- and workshop.
